Shanghai is followed by other Chinese cities: Chengdu (3.2 million square meters), Shenzhen (2.7 million) and Tianjin (2.5 million). Other cities in the top 10 are Istanbul, Wuhan, Moscow, Beijing, Nanjing and Guangzhou.
According to CBRE, in Europe are the Russian and Turkish cities that continue to dominate construction projects. While pointing to the latter market at a low level, at the historical minimums, CBRE still finds plans to expand shopping malls in order to respond to a request for development-looking brands.
